Join us on November 25th, 2019 for the matchmaking symposium organized by the GCCIR and Innoget in the city of Barcelona, as part of the 2019 GCCIR Matchmaking Mission to Europe.

GCCIR will deliver presentations on the province of Alberta’s innovation landscape and the funding available to Albertan companies through the Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund. Presentations will also be given on opportunities available to Spanish companies.

ACCIÓ will deliver presentations on the region of Catalonia as an Innovation hub in Europe, and the instruments available to foster technological cooperation between Alberta and Catalonia regions.

  • Less than $50 million CAD in annual revenue

The mission to Europe

The 2019 GCCIR Matchmaking Mission to Europe will visit Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria, stopping by the cities of Barcelona, Namur, Düsseldorf, Prague, and Vienna.

Key facts
  • The mission is an opportunity to connect with EU partners with whom to apply for the Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund
  • Prior to the matchmaking mission, all Albertan attendees are asked to fill out detailed forms outlining the expertise and objectives of their enterprises. This information is used by the matchmaking partners of the GCCIR to find potential partner companies
  • Every symposium will include presentations on the workings of the Alberta-Europe Technology Collaboration Fund, presentations on doing business in the various jurisdictions, as well as a keynote speech or presentation on a relevant innovation-related topic
  • The symposia generally last for half a day (including morning coffee and a networking lunch), after which participants are free to continue with negotiations and discussions for the partners which they have met
